Received Mar 22, 2017 Revised May 13, 2017 Accepted Jun 3, 2017 Energy is the driving force in all the sectors as it acts like an index of standard of living or prosperity of the people of the country. However heavy dependence on fossil fuels leads to global warming, hence there is a need for the use of clean, sustainable, and eco friendly form of energy. Among the various types of non-conventional energy solar energy is the fundamental as it is abundant, pollution free and universally available.Even though the main input to the PV system is the solar radiation still there are other factors which affects the efficiency of the pv module. In this paper real time experiment has been conducted to analyze the effect of various factors like irradiance, temperature, and angle of tilt, soiling, shading on the power output of the pv module. Temperature is a negative factor which reduces the efficiency of the module and can be reduced by various cooling arrangements. Presence of dust particles and shading obstructs the incident solar radiations entering the panel and the effect is seen in the iv and pv curve .For better performance solar tracking at maximum power point is suggested to improve the power output of the pv module. Analysis of Temperature Effect on a Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Module Performance

In this paper, the effect of the cell-temperature on the performance of photovoltaic (PV) module is evaluated. The evaluation is based on a mathematical module (single diode equivalent circuit) and practically based on solar module tester (SMT). Solara®130W PV crystalline silicon module was used in this simulation. The SMT is able to supply a constant irradiance level (1000W/m2) or any other de...

Analysis of Photovoltaic Module Resistance Characteristics

Abstract: This paper proposes a new analysis method for photovoltaic (PV) modules. The main objectives are to obtain the resistance parameters of PV modules by adjusting I-V equation and voltage equation of diode and to find the relationship between resistance parameters and power. Firstly, values of serial resistance and parallel resistance at maximum power point are concluded. Secondly, the c...

Sensitivity analysis and parameters calculation of PV solar panel based on empirical data and two-diode circuit model

In this paper, a simple algorithm based on a two-diode circuit model of the solar cell is proposed for calculating different parameters of PV panels. The input parameters required for this algorithm are available from datasheets of the standard PV modules. The values of series and parallel resistances, as well as the recombination factor of Diode 2, are estimated through an iterative solution p...

A Hybrid Switching Technique for Single-Phase AC-Module PV System to Reduce Power Losses and Minimize THD

This paper proposes a hybrid switching technique for a domestic PV system with AC-module architecture. In this PV system, independent control of PV modules, which are directly connected to DC terminals of a single-phase cascaded multilevel inverter, makes module-level MPPT possible to extract maximum available solar energy, especially in partial shading conditions. As one of the main contributi...
